Re: [News]Jeff Hammond To Play New Villain?
Thats actually a really intersting question...
Great White:
Positives: Fits with the hyper realistic theme of the nolan movies. Is a crime lord cabable of doing what bruce cant (stablise gotham after the whole joker debacle). Able to have Bane as a realistic inforcer and as a dragon. Can have a tie in with the joker by having him in a cell next to him in arkam, one of the crime bosses left over in there after the insanity plea's from the first movie. Would want to activly get away from the joker so cuts parts of his face off and escapes from the hospital which is the same one that Alfred/ Lucius is in
Negatives: Doesnt contrast visually with the joker (All white face and all white face, wears a similar kind of suit). Wounds would be self inflicted, so we would know where he got those scars...
Black Mask:
Positives: Is a crime lord cabable of doing what bruce cant (stablise gotham after the whole joker debacle). Able to have Bane as a realistic inforcer and as a dragon. Contrasts extremely well with the joker, both thematicly and visually (may not be as interesting but thats worth more points than that story justification i had above)
Negatives: I cant come up with a reason for him to be wearing the mask...
On ballence i think (sic:really want) Great White
Really really good idea Justin.
Like a ridiculously good idea.

Nah,if they were to do great white, his origin is actually realistic enough to be kept.
He's sane, but manages to get sent to arkham instead of prison.
Thinks itll be easier
WRONG!
Read how he becomes deformed and everything.
Its realistic enough for Nolans movies

Im more than happy to do the thinking for you.
Hows this for a possible plot overview?
Whites in Arkam as a left over from the first movie, where the mob members (im thinking a luteniant someone fairly high up but without the swing to get out by his own connections) were being sent to arkam instead of jail. And he never got moved to jail because of some bearucratic oversite. Then the Jokers moved in to the cell next door and just wont shut up, so he decides to get out, inflicts those scars to himself as a reason to be moved to the less secure hospital. Then escapes from there.
Then in the main story (this bit would work for both Black and White) he pulls the paniced criminal element together who are only slightly less confused than the general populace (who having lost both beacons of light in the city are leaving in droves) and manages to pull gotham back into somthing resembling order, makes it comparativly safe again. Something that Batman hasnt been able to do for however long its been since the events in the dark knight.
Which gives Bruce the moral conundrum and central conflict for the movie, that the few normal people remaining, are safer under criminal control then under his, that Gotham finally doesnt need him, because its operating, his only viable target is doing the same thing hes been trying to do for the last two movies, and doing it better.
Ive got a couple ideas of how this would end, my favorite is Batman becoming a new crime figurehead, after all people have been questioning his motivations across both movies now, maybe he just got rid of the mobs and Harvey as a way of clearing a way for his own rule? Jim Alfred and Lucius are the only people who have any reason to think that the crime boss batman isnt what he wanted it to be.
And because anything less would be a moral compromise to the character he can keep Gotham in the same situation that Black/ White put it into (corrupt but functioning), but turns his sights global, making deals with other crime rings only to use that as an opertunity to take them out as Bruce Wayne through legal paths? A reversal of the plan he used on the ?Japanese? company in the Dark knight and a thematic victory in the memory of Harvey, his personal life succeeding at somthing batman couldnt manage?

Re: [News]Jeff Hammond To Play New Villain?
Yeah,i understand that you're trying to give him something new,but I think the comic book origin would work perfectly in Nolans 'realistic' universe

Re: [News]Jeff Hammond To Play New Villain?
I agree the comic book origion would work fine, and ive only changed two details to it anyway (him doing it to himself, and by extention his motivation for doing so. Having it done to him still works great but i think that this is so much more dramatic)
Now im talking about how it would effect the plot of the movie and how white or black would work as a villian, rather than where they come from.
