Best Batman movie thus far?

This is to small a group right now to make this a vote *thousands of future archive trawlers laugh* but well.. exactly what the topic title is.
For me I'd have to say.

1. Batman Returns

2. The Dark Knight

3. Batman Begins

4. Batman

5. Batman Mask of the Phantasm

6. Batman Forever

7. The Made for Tv. Adam West movie

8. Batman and Robin

I know theres a lot more animated movies out there but thats all ive seen

Anyone else want to challenge or agree?

Well,I do have to agree about Adam Wests movie being ahead of Batman and Robin

Damn it, I forgot Under the Red Hood! And I've realised in the last month that The Dark Knight might not be my favourite Batman movie. It probably still is, but I don't like it as much anymore...

It's actually really good. You probably already know this, but it's an amimated film in BTAS canon. So it has all the greatness of BTAS but in film form!

I just think its the better "Batman" movie.
Explores Bruces origins and motivation better than any other film. I though Gotham was portrayed better (something TDK lost) and it had better writing, pacing and character development than the 90s films.
Very Year One inspired and probably the movie most true to the comics ( except maybe Batman 66 at the time but...no)

I think that as a film TDK is better but as a Batman film, BB takes it.

I did think that the loss of gotham as an individual was something to be wept over, the personification was just so good...

I tend to think of the Movies and the comics to be entirely seperate entities though, which is why acuracy to the comics has never been a real isuee.
If you take them as character studies of Batman though then I'd have to agree, but i do think its weaker in the story though.

I've never minded whether the Batman movies were completely comic-accurate or not so accurate, which is one of the reasons I love TDK.

But I do prefer if the movies were closer to the comics, anyway. While not being completely the same, since it's in movie form.

The Dark Knight has to be the best action film i have seen ever! The Batman was amazing, The Joker was brilliant, and Two Face was charecterized amazingly!! It could not have been made any better!!

For thematic breadth I would have to agree with you (the Dark Knight is easily the best done example of an epic good vs. evil conflict Ive ever seen). I wouldnt say the best though action movie though. Its has excelent exocution and an overall really high grade but the individual elements have all been done better in other movies.

1. The Dark Knight 10/10 ( There's nothing that I didn't like about this movie, I thought it was great right to the end. )
2. Batman Forever 10/10 ( I loved this movie, and I liked Two-Face, okay, he might be like the Joker a little bit, but I thought he was good. Riddler was great, but I am a big fan of Jim. )
3. Under The Red Hood 9/10 ( Best Batman animated movie, IMO. Great story, but the ending wasn't that great. I really wanted to find out what happened to Jason, where did he go when the bomb went off? )
4. Batman And Robin 9/10 ( Okay, loads of people hate this movie, and I can see why, but why can't they see this as a comedy? It's really funny, IMO. And I think it's the first Batman movie that I saw, so that might be why I like it too. )
5. Batman Returns 8/10 ( Putting Croc's origin as Penguin's was a great idea. Penguin was fantastic, but I didn't like his Penguin army, and why the hell did his gang look like Joker's? Anyway, Catwoman was okay, wasn't that great, but she was still good in the movie. )
6. Batman 89' 7/10 ( Was okay, IMO. Didn't really like it that much, but it had a good story, and Joker was good in it too. )
7. Batman Begins 7/10 ( I've seen that lots of you have this near to the top or it is at no. 1, but for me, I didn't like the movie. I found it slow, and there wasn't that much action, and when there was action, it was over in a few seconds. And Ra's was in it, and I don't like him at all. )
8. Batman 66' 7/10 ( Again another Batman film that I see as a comedy, really funny moments were in the film, and I kind of see it as a classic. )
9. Year One 4/10 ( No one has this on their lists, it might becasue it came out after you guys made them, or you forgot about it, I don't know. Anyway, boring, IMO. It was great as a GN, but it's crap as a film. I can think of a few things that I liked about it, but the rest of it I hated. )
10. Mask Of The Phantasm 2/10 ( The only thing I liked about the movie was when it ended. It's just about Bruce's love life, and when he was Batman, it was still as boring as hell. I can't see why this film is so near to the top on your lists, it really sucked IMO. )

And that's it, I haven't seen the other movies, those are the only ones I've seen. Anyway, this is just my opinions. And I know loads of people will disagree with me, and think that B&R should always be at the bottom and that MotP should always be near to the top, but I'm not going to change my list. Nuff said.
